Overview

The Prakerja registration process and user dashboard would benefit from enhancements across various aspects, including improvements in layout for a more intuitive user experience, streamlined navigation, refined wording to enhance clarity, updated iconography for visual appeal, and increased readability for better user engagement.

Goals

  • UI/UX, visual design, and copywriting improvement on the current app.

  • Mood and tone of Prakerja can be more serious in order to make the looks and feels more professional.

Design

Illustration & Iconography

1. Illustration

The concept is to simplify the current illustrations and icons, focusing on essential information and adopting a less cartoonish style to convey a more serious and professional tone. I designed this illustrations using Adobe Illustrator.

2. Iconography

I designed the Navigation Menu icons with a two-tone style concept to align with the Prakerja brand’s visual style. The icons now represent more accurate information. For example, the ‘Pelatihan’ icon has been replaced with a book/knowledge symbol to better represent ‘Pelatihan,’ as opposed to the badge on the current icon.

Copywriting

I added and made small changes to the copywriting. Below are some examples.

Registration Process & Dashboard

1. Daftar (Mobile)

The design approach is to keep it simple/clean and minimalist. I have also changed the buttons and cards to be more square instead of rounded. I believe that adopting this visual style will make the app feel more serious and professional.

2. Masuk Akun (Mobile)

The user will need to verify their newly created account using an OTP code. After verification, the user will have the option to either complete their profile or proceed directly to the Dashboard. If the user chooses to go to the Dashboard without completing their profile, they will have access for 7 days (with the day of registration counted as day 1).

Users can view all features of the app, including ‘Pelatihan’, but they cannot join or purchase until their profile is complete. A pop-up notification will remind users to complete their profile.

3. Dashboard (Mobile)

After 7 days, if user still has not completed their account, they will NOT be able to access all app features except “Profil” until they complete their profile.
